
The Office for the Valence and the Anti -Corruption Office (VACB) sought out documents from the Directorate for Recognition of Law (ED) concerning the case of the investigated ED officer Kochi, which in case of corruption accused VACB.
S. Sasidharan, Superintendant Vacb, Ernakulam Unit, visited an officer and handed over a letter in this sense. This was a subsequent letter sent by Vacb to Ed 22 May, looking for details of the case. Mr. Sasidharan told the media that the answer from ED was encouraging.
“We filed a letter asking for the specific records needed for the investigation,” he said. Vacb, he said, analyzed the data obtained from gadgets confiscated from the accused and the content was bulky.
“We have included some of this and much more. The decision to call the accused officer will be taken after the data analysis is completed. There has been another charges and are verified,” Sasidharan said.
VACB arrested three people for the alleged required Crore 2 crore from a Kollam merchant to get it from Ed Hook. Shekhar Kumar, assistant director with ED, was appointed the first accused in the case. However, he was not questioned or arrested.
