The Ministry of the Ministry of Higher Education, Kona Sashidhar, ordered the vice -chairman and registrary of all state universities to focus on improving academic and administrative standards across their relevant institutions.
Mr. Sashidhar, who spoke at a meeting organized by the State Council for Higher Education Andhra Pradesh (APSCHE), ordered the vice -chairmen and registrars to focus on reorientation of the curriculum to strengthen the employability of graduates in accordance with market and social needs. He also asked universities to mentor other institutions, including ITIS, polytechnics, professional universities and universities to ensure cohesive development within the spectrum of higher education.
He urged universities to function as clusters of skills to deal with the diverse level of NSQF (National Skill Qualification Framework) to ensure trouble -free increase and reciting opportunities and increase institutional visibility by maintaining complex databases of all constitutional and associated universities within their jurisdiction.
Council Chairman K. Madhu Murtha emphasized the need for cooperation between universities to increase academic standards, strengthen institutional administration and improve global competitiveness. He reviewed the court cases on the recruitment of the faculty and pointed out that these legal issues were hindered by the Faculty’s recruitment. He ordered universities to resolve these cases in coordination with legal and administrative departments to ensure early and transparent recruitment without compromising quality or legal compliance.
When implementing four-year UG programs with dual large companies, he shared a detailed framework for introducing programs in accordance with the NEP-2020, emphasizing the introduction of dual large companies as an innovative approach to support inter-disciplinary learning.
The universities were recommended to accept the uniform curriculum for technical programs offered by utilities throughout the state and implement the Faculty Development Programs (FDP) focused on digital pedagogy and emerging technologies. Murty said the APSCHE would expand financial support to FDP universities.
Emphasis was also placed on the establishment of functional and dynamic research councils at every university to support a strong research ecosystem, ensure external financing and promote high quality publications. Vice -Presidents were encouraged to strengthen their international reach, proposed friendly policies to foreign students and lever platforms such as “studying in India” to increase global visibility and attract international students.
University was also recommended to strengthen and monitor short -term internships, ensure effective involvement in the field and experiential learning, employability skills, industrial exposure and research possibilities for students.
The meeting was attended by the Vice -Presidents of the APSCHE K. Rama Mohan Rao and P. Uma Maleswari Devi, Secretary of TV Sri Krishna Murty and Vice -President and registors of all state universities.
