“Uttar Pradesh government has signed agreements involving proposed investments of around ₹ 3 lakh crore at the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos,” state finance minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Briefing reporters about the state’s participation in the annual WEF meeting held from January 19 to 22, Mr. Khanna said, “The state delegation held 119 meetings with global investors, including interactions with 55-56 MNCs, resulting in MoUs worth ₹ 3,000,000 crore across multiple sectors. This is a great achievement for the state and the trust of Uttar Pradesh,” hestarpradesh state said.
Mr. Khanna said the largest Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) was signed with Dutch company AM Green for a one-gigawatt AI-based data transmission project with an estimated investment of around $25 billion. “This is the largest MoU signed by Uttar Pradesh in Davos,” he added.
The minister said investment deals were signed in sectors such as data centers, renewable energy and green hydrogen, in addition to defence, tourism, food processing, logistics and warehousing, electric vehicles, pharmaceuticals and healthcare manufacturing.
“The image of Uttar Pradesh at Davos was extremely positive. There was a continuous crowd at our pavilion showing great interest in investing in the state,” Mr. Khanna said.
He attributed the positive response to Uttar Pradesh to improved air, road and rail connectivity and better infrastructure, as well as the “clean, personable image” of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The finance minister said companies from countries including the US, UK, Sweden, Australia and Singapore participated in the talks.
“Investors are choosing destinations based on amenities and competitiveness and Uttar Pradesh has come a long way in this regard,” he said.
Mr. Khanna said the Uttar Pradesh delegation that led the state in Davos included Finance Minister Deepak Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Amit Singh, Invest UP CEO Vijay Kiran Anand and NEDA Director Indrajeet Singh. He added that other investment proposals are expected to take place “sooner or later”. Mr Khanna said this was the third time the state had participated in the WEF in Davos, Switzerland.
