Several central Ohio schools were closed or delayed Monday, Dec. 15 due to slippery roads and wintry weather.
Heavy snowfall over the weekend prompted school districts in central Ohio, including Columbus City, to delay or cancel classes. All extracurricular activities were either postponed or canceled.
The central Ohio area received 4 to 7 inches of snow over the weekend, NBC4I reported.

Winter storm: Schools in Maryland, Virginia and Washington affected
Schools in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia areas are experiencing widespread closures and delays following a major weekend storm, FOX5DC reports.
Commuters are advised to take extra care Monday morning as dangerously cold conditions persist. With regional temperatures hovering near 30 degrees Fahrenheit, there is a significant threat of refreezing on roadways overnight, creating icy conditions and hazardous travel conditions.
