The United States has praised India for its investigation into the Delhi blast case, saying India is to be “commended” for its “measured, careful and professional” investigation into the case.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Wednesday that the Delhi blast was “clearly a terrorist attack” and praised India’s professionalism in the investigation. Rubio said this while responding to questions about India officially declaring Monday night’s blast a terrorist incident.
“The Indians are to be commended. They were very measured, careful and very professional in how they conducted this investigation. This investigation is ongoing. It was clearly a terrorist attack. It was a car loaded with highly explosive materials that exploded and killed a lot of people.”
The US secretary of state said: “I think they are doing a very good job in conducting the investigation, and I think when they have the facts, they will release those facts.”
Marco Rubio also said he spoke to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar after the blast in Delhi’s Red Fort. Rubio said that while the US has offered help, India is “very capable” of handling the investigation and does not need help.
“We’re aware of the potential it has, and we’ve talked a little bit about it today — the potential it has to become something broader. We’ll wait and see what the investigation reveals. We’ve offered to help, but I think they’re very capable in these investigations. They don’t need our help and they’re doing a good job,” he said.
EAM Jaishankar and Secretary Rubio met on the sidelines of the G7 Foreign Ministers meeting in Niagara, Canada. During their discussion, Rubio expressed his condolences for the lives lost in the recent blast in Delhi. The meeting also covered bilateral relations and global developments.
Following the blast near the iconic Red Fort, a preliminary investigation revealed a link to a “white-collar terror network”, with investigative agencies finding links to the terror incident with Pakistan’s Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH) outfits.

The network, which allegedly included doctors and clerics, was dismantled after a series of coordinated operations between October 19 and November 10, 2025, which resulted in the recovery of 2,921 kilograms of explosives and many arrests.
