The two best players in the world Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will face themselves in their third consecutive Grand Slam finals at the US Open, with President Donald Trump to attend the match. The event has been the first performance at Flushing Meadows since 2015 and the first sitting president will participate in the US Open by Bill Clinton in 2000.
The aim of the best deployed Sinner, a defense counsel, will become the first player to successfully defend the title of the US Open since the fifth successive victory of Roger Federer in 2008.
Alcaraz, who claimed his first of five Grand Slam in New York three years ago, achieved the final without dropping the set, which is in decades.
“Many famous people come to the tournament and we as players know. This means that tennis is important,” Sinner said.
The presidential visit continues in the recent Trump performance at the main sports events, after his participation in the NFL Super Bowl in February and the FIFA Club finals in July.
During Trump’s last visit to the US Open in 2015, he and his wife Melania met with Boos from the crowd. The organizers reportedly demanded that the transmitters avoid any negative response to Trump during the Sunday finals.
Increased security measures are introduced, which requires viewers to go through additional checkpoints before entering Arthur ASHE.
Alcaraz dominated recent matches with Sinner, although the Italian is experiencing an exceptional season Grand Slam.
On the French Open Alcaraz saved three points of the championship to defeat Sinner, which prevented him from chasing the calendar. Sinner replied by winning his final Wimbledon match and adding at the beginning of this year to win the Australian Open.
“I feel that our rivalry has started here and is playing an amazing match. Now we are two different players, with certainty for sure. It’s great for a sport that has rivalries, hopefully we will be big matches … It’s someone who pushed me to the limit,” said the 24 -year -old.
Alcaraz, 22, defeated Novak Djokovich in the semifinals and stopped the Serbian persecution of the 25th main title. He will enter his seventh Grand Slam final, which leads a head record to his head against Sinner 9-5 and won six of his last seven meetings.
“It is obvious that I will take things about the last matches I played against him. I will take note of and see what I did wrong, what I did great.
The Spaniard won 36 of his last 37 matches, his only defeat coming against Sinner in Wimbledon.
“I get a high level and send messages to people on the circuit that this is my level. It’s not my maximum level, I still have room for improvement, but it’s a high level,” Alcaraz said.
In the Sunday finals, it is at stake on the world ranking, reminiscent of the final victory of Alcaraz 2022 over Casper Ruud. Alcaraz had previously held the honor that he was the youngest number one at the age of 19, but did not hold the highest place for two years.
“It’s a good goal, but we didn’t focus too much on this tournament. It reminds me of the 2022 final when I played for Slam and instead of number one. It will be like a flashback.
