Stefanos Titsipas’s Grand Slam Fights continued when he knocked him out of the US Open by German Daniel Altmaier in the late night thriller on the grandstand. 26. The seed fell 7-6 (5), 1-6, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 after more than four hours of grasping tennis, a competition that turned dramatically before Altmaier was sealed by Gutsy with the fifth set.
The Germans, who have already passed five hundred battles in the opening round, saved the match on 4-5, 30/40 in the referees before completing one of the greatest victory of his career. Altmaier was fearless in the approach, serving and Vleying 28 times – 14 of them in the final set – and left the court exhausted but cheerful.
“It’s a big relief,” Altmaier said. “I was in the fourth decay and since then I just said I would try to leave all my energy. After the first round of playing five sets I left my heart here.”

It was a breakthrough moment for Altmaier. Twice the fourth round in Roland Garros, never exceeded the first round in 11 previous attempts at the other three large companies. The eighth consecutive year meant that De Minaur had reached the third round in New York and had to drop this fourteen days. The 25 -year -old will face Altmaier in a collision who promises to test physical and mental reserves of players.
On the side of women Amanda Anisimova drove around Australian teenager Maya Joint 7-6 (2), 6-2 in the final match on Louis Armstrong. The American, deployed eighth, was set up after the escape opening to secure its place in the third round for the first time at Flushing Meadows since 2020.
Anisimova, who has now won 10 of her last 13 games, is still enjoying the renewal season. Thursday’s victory called her 35 years.
