The US government has announced rewards of up to $10 million for information on senior officials of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the country’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, the State Department said.
“These individuals command and control various elements of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which plan, organize and carry out terrorism around the world,” the ministry said.
The announcement comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following recent US and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.
Targeted key leaders and officials
Among the 10 individuals named by the State Department are:
-Mojtaba Khamenei, Supreme Leader
– Ali Asghar Hejazi, Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Supreme Leader (SLO)
-May. General Yahya Rahim Safavi, military adviser to the SLO
-Ali Larijani, SLO Adviser / Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council
-Brig. Gene. Eskandar Momeni, Minister of the Interior
-Esmail Khatib, Minister of Intelligence and Security
Other unnamed positions include Secretary of the Defense Council, Advisor to the Supreme Leader, Chief of the Military Office (SLO) and Commander of the IRGC.
Rewards for Justice Program
The State Department encourages tipsters to send information through encrypted platforms, specifically a Tor- or Signal-based tipline.
“If you have information about these or other key leaders of the IRGC or their sub-affiliates, please send them to us through our tip line or Tor-based signal,” the program said on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
The program added, “Your information could allow you to be relocated and rewarded,” stressing that submissions could lead to the capture or prosecution of the wanted individuals.
Mojtaba Khamenei’s father, Ali Khamenei, was killed in a bombing on February 28 at the start of the recent US-Israeli military campaign against Iran. Khamenei took over after a period of regional instability, with the IRGC remaining a central force in Iran’s military and political operations.
