U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced new guidelines for screening foreigners from 19 high-risk countries after an Afghan national shot and wounded two National Guard members.
The statement read: “Following the shooting of two National Guard service members in Washington, DC by an Afghan national on Wednesday, US Citizenship and Immigration Services has issued new guidance that allows country-specific negative factors to be taken into account when screening aliens from 19 high-risk countries. The guidance comes after the Trump administration halted its first year of resettlement of refugees from Afghanistan and the state agency’s entry into Afghanistan.”
