The United States has formally invited Israel to attend President Donald Trump’s event.Board of Peace” initiative, a project designed to mediate international disputes, he says Reuters.
While Trump initially announced the Peace Council last September as a localized framework for termination conflict in Gazaan invitation sent to global leaders last week suggests a significantly broader mandate to address wars on a global scale, Reuters reported.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration has already expressed disapproval of the independent Gaza executive council set up by Washington last week, saying its structure contradicts Israeli national policy. This Gaza body, which operates within the broader peace committee, is mandated by the White House to promote stability and economic growth in the territory; notably, there are no Palestinian representatives on the board.

Netanyahu’s office has not publicly described its specific grievances, although Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and a senior Qatari official are on the Gaza council’s roster. Israel’s leadership has consistently resisted any Turkish presence in the post-war administration of Gaza and maintains tense and complex relations with Qatar, which serves as the primary intermediary with Hamas.
The invitation to the overarching global board now puts Israel in a position to consider its strategic involvement in Trump’s expanding peace architecture.
France rejects Trump’s invitation to “Peace Committee”.
Meanwhile, France is unlikely to respond favorably to an invitation to participate in President Trump’s “Board of Peace,” as reported AFP.
The board’s charter “goes beyond the sole framework of Gaza,” an official close to President Emmanuel Macron said AFP.
“It raises fundamental questions, especially regarding respect for the principles and structure of the United Nations, which cannot be questioned under any circumstances,” the officials said.
As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, France remains in line with existing international structures. Earlier on Monday, France’s foreign ministry stressed its commitment to the UN, noting that it was reviewing the council’s legality, while expressing concern that the initiative was going beyond the situation in Gaza.
“This remains the cornerstone of effective multilateralism, where international law, the sovereign equality of states and the peaceful resolution of disputes prevail over arbitrariness, power politics and war,” it said.

Canada will not pay for a seat on the Peace Council
Canada Won’t Pay to Be in Trump’s ‘Pride of Peace’ AFP he said, referring to a government official.
“Canada will not be paying for a seat on the board, nor has Canada been asked to do so at this time,” a government official said.
Member countries — represented on the board by their head of state or government — could join for three years or more if they paid more than $1.0 billion in cash during the first year, the charter said.
