
Tanner Martin, a 30 -year -old influencer of the social media from Utah, died after a five -year battle with the colon cancer. In the deeply moving gesture Martin announced his death in a pre -recorded video, which was shared on his Instagram account 25 June, something over a month after welcomed his first child, daughter, his wife Shay Wright.
When he spoke directly to the camera, Martin started the video by saying, “Hey, it’s me, Tanner. If you watch it, I’m dead.” The video, now widely shared on social media, has left emotional followers and inspired his strength and grace in the face of a terminal disease.
“I had a hell of life,” Martin said, explaining that he had noticed the message as a way to gather his last thoughts and support his wife in a difficult time. “Life was amazing. When I was here, I really liked it … Hopefully there is something, and I’m excited to meet these people,” he added.
Martin thought about death as a “new adventure” and expressed gratitude for his life, for his loved ones and for the community that supported him during his illness. “Thank you for all your support and for the help of the last years of my life, pleasant and comfortable,” he said.
His wife Shay called the video: “There may be strength with you from our angelic power of spirit.” She also published another video with details about the final wishes of Tanner.
Who was Tanner Martin?
Martin documented his cancer journey on the social media, often with a mixture of humor and honesty that resonated with thousands. In February 2023, he revealed in an interview with people that his cancer was no longer curable and was given life expectancy for two to five years.
Martin’s story has since affected a chord with many online.
