Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held wide-ranging talks with US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore to strengthen cooperation between the state and America, focusing on promoting investment and expanding trade ties.

Consul General Michael Schreuder also participated in the discussion held at the Chief Minister’s official residence in Mumbai on Saturday (January 17, 2026), Mr. Fadnavis said in a post on X.
The two sides explored opportunities to increase US investment in Maharashtra and support state-owned companies looking to expand their presence in the US, he said.
The CM said he also briefed the US delegation about the state’s flagship and strategic initiatives, including the Navi Mumbai International Education City.
“Both sides agreed to work more closely to deepen the partnership between the US and Maharashtra,” he added.
