November 4th is Election Day in the United States. This year’s election will see several key battles across various states of the Union. The most significant of these would be the one for the mayor of New York.
Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic Party candidate for mayor, is in first place according to public opinion polls. If he wins, he will make history as the first Muslim to be elected mayor of New York. He is opposed by former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa.
According to boltsmag.com, elections are held in 32 states. The positions being voted for range from local officials to state governors. Mayor of New York
Elections will be held from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM local time. Early voting began on November 2. The results should be expected in the following hours.
Governor of New Jersey
Polling stations will open at 6:00 a.m. and will remain open until 8:00 p.m. local time. The results would come soon after.
Governor of Virginia
According to Fox 5 DC, voting in Virginia begins at 6:00 a.m. local time and ends at 7:00 p.m. local time. Results will begin to roll in as voting progresses and the result will be announced later in the night.
Texas 18th Congressional District
One congressional seat became vacant after the death of Democratic incumbent Sylvester Turner. Voting will continue until 8:00 PM ET in that seat, Texas’ 18th Congressional District. Sixteen candidates are in contention, and if no candidate receives 50% of the vote, there will be a runoff between the top two candidates.
