Days after the State Assembly was approved a special law on the special security of Maharashtra, the main Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday (July 22, 2025) claimed that “city Naxals” from the state used foreign funds to disseminate rumors and development projects. The main minister was in the district of Gadchiroli to start projects.

Mr. Fadnavis also stressed that the Minister of the Gadchiroli district also stressed that social media campaigns that claim that killing of the tribes and land seizures began as soon as the steel plant was laid. “Urban naxalism” is spreading and used disinformation to uproot development projects, “said Mr. Fadnavis, adding that he was shocked that he came across news when nothing happened.
Mr. Fadnavis revealed that after the investigation, four participating persons from Calcutta and Bengalur were involved and worked on foreign financing to “stimulate people against the constitution”.
During a call at the ceremony of “breaking” from several Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited projects in the Gadchiroli district, Mr. Fadnavis, who is also the Minister of Home, called on NAXALITY to enter the mainstream and leave their old life.
“We are on the way to fulfill our dream that Gadchiroli becomes an India steel node. In 2015–2016, mining in the middle of problems that represent Naxaliti, villagers and security problems. However, we are on the way to building a steel ecosystem for the locals.
