
Given that the WRD protection division (WRD), which deals with the second phase of UPPAR discharging, the drainage channel in Lalgudi Taluk would be fully cleaned in this financial year.
The channel is forced by a length of about 4 km per estimated costs of approximately 1.10 crore.
In 2024-25 the channel was forced about 4 km from its tail to an estimate of 91.10 Lakh.
The division carries out about 115 works to estimate Crore 16.70 GBP in the district as part of a special condemnation work, which would help to improve irrigation to 1.18 lakh acres of cultivable soil.
On Thursday R. Dhayalakumar, Chief Engineer, WRD, Tiruchi region, seemed to work at UPPAR outflow in Neikouppai together with A. Nityanandam and Rajendran, executive engineers and P. Muruganandam, auxiliary executive engineer, WRD.
