The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to a man who was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police last year for allegedly posting an Instagram post saying “I love Muhammad”.
On Monday, while granting bail to accused Nadeem, Justice Rajiv Lochan Shukla observed that “complainant has no criminal record” and the post “does not name any particular caste or community”.
The accused, who was jailed on October 7 last year, had sought bail from the court in connection with an FIR registered at the Muzaffarnagar police station. His attorney argued that he had been falsely implicated in the case and that the trial was unlikely to end in the near future.
