UP leaders greet people on Hindi Diwas and say respect for Hindi is respect for the nation

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other leaders from the state on Monday (September 14, 2026) greeted people on Hindi Diwas, noting that Hindi is a strong expression of India’s cultural consciousness and national unity.
Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year on 14 September to mark the adoption of Hindi as an official language by the Constituent Assembly on 14 September 1949.
Posting on X in Hindi, Mr. Adityanath said, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all Hindi enthusiasts and the people of the state on Hindi Diwas. Hindi is a powerful expression of our cultural consciousness, national unity and Indian identity. Let us all come together and resolve to revere, promote and widely use Hindi.” Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak also greeted on the occasion.

“On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, let us resolve to revere, promote and use our official language Hindi more and more. By spreading the simplicity, richness and vastness of Hindi to every individual, we can further strengthen our linguistic and cultural heritage,” said Mr. Maurya.
Mr. Pathak said Hindi, which binds the nation together with a thread of unity, is not just a language but an expression of feelings.
“I cordially greet all the countrymen and residents of the states in Hindi, our official language which unites the national diversity, culture, civilization and values in a single thread, on Hindi Diwas,” he said.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also wished the people on the occasion of the Hindu festival of Diwas.
In a post on X, the Uttar Pradesh unit of the Congress said, “Hindi is not just a language but the identity of our culture, values, emotions and self-respect. Let’s not limit Hindi to mere conversation but make it the pride of our thoughts, conduct and expression. Respect for Hindi is respect for the nation. Pride in Hindi is pride.”
