
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak on Friday ordered strict action against many health officials, including the dismissal of five doctors, over alleged negligence, misconduct and irregularities within the health department, PTI reported.

According to an official statement issued by his office, the five doctors were dismissed for being absent from duty for long periods without notice and for avoiding medical work.
“Those released include Dr. Alaknanda from Gorakhpur District Hospital, Dr. Ramji Bhardwaj under the banner of Kushinagar Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Saurabh Singh under the banner of CMO Balrampur, Dr. Viklesh Kumar Sharma from CHC Jagdishpur in Amethi and Dr. Monica Verma from CHCiya Dibiyapur.

The government has also ordered ministerial disciplinary action against 16 doctors, including Ambedkar Nagar CMO Dr Sanjay Kumar Shaival and deputy CMO Dr Sanjay Verma, over alleged irregularities in the registration and renewal process of private hospitals, nursing homes and ultrasound centres, it added, as reported by PTI.
According to the statement, “the two officers were found guilty of willfully violating government norms, abusing their positions and showing negligence in cleaning files for personal interests.”
“A preliminary inquiry conducted by a three-member committee, including an additional district magistrate, reportedly upheld several complaints against them, following which Pathak ordered strict action.”

The department has also ordered proceedings against the Medical Superintendent Hardoi Dr. Manoji Kumar Singh for allegedly failing to act against unauthorized private hospitals operating in the district and dereliction of duty.
The health department also sought an explanation from the Hardoi CMO regarding the assignment of senior-level duties to a junior doctor despite the availability of senior officers in the district, PTI reported.
Several doctors have also been prosecuted in separate cases related to alleged medical negligence, administrative lapses, improper medico-legal examinations and misconduct with colleagues, the statement said.

Among them are Dr Shameem Akhtar from Prayagraj, doctors and a pharmacist posted at CHC Lambhua in Sultanpur and two doctors from Mathura District Hospital accused of negligence in preparing medico-legal reports in the assault case.
Departmental proceedings have also been ordered against doctors posted in Balrampur, Varanasi, Badaun, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sambhal and other districts for alleged medical negligence.
In a separate case, Dr Rituj Agrawal, an associate professor in the Department of Orthopedics at the Government Medical College, Badaun, is facing disciplinary proceedings over allegations of abuse and misconduct with a female doctor and another colleague.

Meanwhile, there were two doctors—Dr. Pratibha Yadav of Bahraich and Dr. Rakesh Singh of Mathura – punished in separate cases related to alleged negligence.
The statement further said that the deputation of Dr Aditya Pandey, who was posted to the State Health Agency under the cashless medical scheme for government employees, was terminated with immediate effect due to alleged misconduct and misbehavior with a colleague.
He was sent back to his original post in Raebareli and departmental action was also ordered, he added.
The government also ordered that salary increases be withheld in several cases. Dr. Lalmani, who is currently posted in Hamirpur, has been punished with a permanent suspension of three pay increments and a jail term on charges of extorting patients and misbehavior during his earlier stay in Azamgarh.

Four additions to Dr. Santosh Singh of Balrampur and two additions Dr. Nisha Bundela from Jhansi were also denied.
The government has ordered strict action against those who violate norms and neglect their duties.
Action was also taken against Dr Pawan Sahu, an orthopedic surgeon at a trauma center in Moth, Jhansi, after allegations of private practice against him were found to be true, the statement added.
