The Chief Minister UTTAR Pradesh Yogi Adityanath launched a Gorakhpur motorway built at a price of over 7,000 GBP on Friday (June 20, 2025). Adityanath called inauguration in Azamgarh and stressed that UP is no longer a “bimar”, but appears as the “state of the highway”.
Bimaru is a term used in a reference to a group of states, including up and Madhya Pradesh, which were historically considered lagging in terms of social and economic development.
The main minister added that Azamgarh, who once faced an identity crisis, has now turned into a fortress of untamed courage. This change witnessed in the region to lead Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the efforts of the “double -engine government” transformed Uttar Pradesh, said Mr. Adityanath.
Mr. Aditho said that he will provide first -class connectivity not only with Azamgarh, but also to the adjacent districts of Sant Kabir Nagar and Gorakhpur, as well as for the adjacent districts of Sant Kabir Nagar and Gorakhpur. “After 2017, UP focused on strengthening its infrastructure. Breaking its Bimar brand, the state plays a key role in the nation’s growth engine,” he stressed.
‘Before 2017’
Adityanath, who only touched the state before 2017, said that the state lacks the developmental agenda and basic equipment. “Any system for the well -being of people was unable to address its legitimate recipients. The traditional industry UP was on the verge of extinction and the criminal culture” One District, One Mafia “benefited from previous governments,” added the main minister.
He said that developing projects initiated corruption and criminal intervening in previous regimes, while the situation drastically changed the situation under the BJP government in the state. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, however, the state has undergone a remarkable transformation that appeared as a mafia, no unrest and favorable environment for tourism and investment,” said Mr. Adityanath.
The main minister emphasized the growth of motorways to UP and added that the state boasts 340 km of speed, 300 km Bundelkhand Expressway and now 91 km Gorakhpur Link Gasressway, which is functional, working on six other rounds. “These (highways) will bring a massive change in the UP development outlook,” he said.
