
Two police officers at Kalpetta police station were suspended on the basis of a preliminary investigation by the head of the Wayanad District Police of Wayanad’s police chief Taposh Basumatari’s unnatural death, the tribal youth, which was taken into custody in connection with the disappearance of a smaller girl.
The suspension began on Saturday, April 5 until the investigation against the assistant Sub-Invcessor Deep, who was in charge of the entry of General Diara (GD) and officer of the Civil Police Sreejith. Both were on duty when he was 18 years old from Nellarachal, Wayanad, found dead in the toilet of the 1st April station.
According to police sources, the spacecraft at the department level was launched after both officers were found responsible for negligence in ensuring proper youth supervision. In ensuring his safe links, they were reportedly responsible for the “lack of alertness”.
Gokul and the missing girl were taken into custody by Kozhikode 31. March. While the minor was sent to a government shelter, the youth was held at the police station because it was too late to make him in front of the judge on the same day. Gokul was found dead inside the bathroom around 8 am in the morning.
The postmort report found no evidence of torture or injuries. However, the alleged impacts on the police solution and their inability to ensure the safety of youth in custody have caused extended protests. Subsequently, the state government ordered an investigation into a crime branch. The State Commission for Human Rights in Kerala also registered the case and was looking for a report from the Chief of the District Police (Wayanad).
According to police sources, this allegedly some problems with intertribal problems that caused a smaller girl and Gokul to escape from their settlement in Wayanad. Gokul and a girl belonging to various tribal communities were warned against continuing their relationship because of cultural divisions. Both of them lacked for more than a week, which made their families to file a complaint with the missing people at the Kalpetta police station.
