The Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation in association with My (Mera Yuva) Bharat, an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, will organize a Unity March on Saturday.
Hubballi-Dharwad Mayor Jyoti Patil, addressing presspersons along with Deputy Mayor Santosh Chavan in Hubballi on Thursday, said the program named Sardar @ 150 Unity March is part of a national campaign to rekindle the spirit of patriotism, inculcate civic responsibility among the youth and strengthen integrity among the youth.
Mayor Jyoti Patil said the program was designed in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of people’s participation in nation building.
She said the main objective of the campaign is to bring youth and elders on the same platform and highlight the role of youth in nation building.
The program is also aimed at commemorating the contributions of national leaders, she said.
The unity march will be flagged off by Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi at KLE University of Technology. It closes at Tolanakere Tank.
