Manitaneya Makkal Katchi President MH Jawahirullah on Thursday (June 26, 2025) claimed that the Waqf Umeed portal, which was launched by the Union’s government for the WAQF real estate registration, is illegal and represents contempt by the court.
In his statement, Mr. Jawahirullah stated that the WAQF Amendment Act, 2025, is before the court review before the Supreme Court in India. “Not only Muslim organizations, but also all political parties that adhere to social harmony, strongly opposed the WAQF change Act. On June 6, the Union government launched a consolidation portal and began to order the compulsory registration of WAQF.”
The Council for Personal Right for all India Muslim Personal Right urged the WAQF administrator and the State Council to delay the registration of WAQF real estate through the portal until the Supreme Court issued its judgment because the law on the change itself violates the institute.
