The Cabinet’s Economic Committee meeting here on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) raised the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane for the 2026-27 (October-September) sugar season by ₹10 per metric cent over the last crop year.
The new price will be ₹365 per quintal with a base sugar recovery rate of 10.25%. The government will provide a premium of ₹ 3.56 per quintal for every 0.1% increase in yield above 10.25% and a reduction of ₹ 3.56 per quintal for every 0.1% decrease in yield.
