State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) official spokesperson Jalli Madhusudhan on Monday (February 2, 2026) hailed the Union Budget 2026-2027 as a youth-centric and inclusive plan aimed at empowering the younger generation and uplifting the weaker sections.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that by presenting a growth-oriented budget, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has put people’s welfare and long-term national growth at the center of policy-making.
Mr. Madhusudhan noted that Ms. Sitharaman has made history by presenting the budget for the ninth consecutive time, equaling the record previously held by former Prime Minister Morarji Desai. He said the budget laid a solid foundation for India’s development journey to become a developed country by 2047.
He said an increase in the standard deduction would provide tangible relief to workers and the middle class, while tax credits for foreign education, medical treatment and travel would ease the financial burden on families. Simplifying the Income Tax Act and introducing a new, transparent tax framework, he added, would improve compliance and governance.
The BJP leader said that measures to increase farm income would boost the rural economy and that defense spending with an emphasis on domestic manufacturing would strengthen national security.
He said incentives for digital technology, artificial intelligence and robotics will open up new opportunities for the youth and termed the budget as a decisive step towards ‘Viksit Bharat’.
