
Keral’s government has introduced a uniform menu for school noon food throughout the state.
The government was appointed an expert committee that explored and scientifically revised the noon meal menu. The Committee report recommends that various vegetables should be used for the care of the noon meal menu. Vegetables should also be replaced by microgreens on offer once or twice a month.
When leaf vegetables are used in their career, lens or beans should be added.
Once a week, students get dishes such as vegetable fried rice, lemon rice and vegetable biryyani cooked using fortified rice. These meals will be accompanied by some curry, such as the “coott of curry” or Kuruma. Students as an accompanying meal can be served by chammanthi made using leaves of mint, ginger, area and raw mango.
With regard to the health benefits of the millet, ragi balls, ragi ‘kozhukukuku’ made from reasonable parts of jaggers and coconut, Ela Ada, Aval Kuthirthathu, Mrkvo Payasam made from milk and Payasam made with ragi or other millet. Horsegram Thoran, Soy Kari, Thoran Leaf List, Egg Aviyal, Pwheer Kari, Jackfruit Puzhuko Seed, Fried Rice, Pepper Roast, Bhindi Mappas and Carrots Rice are some of the meals in the noon menu.
