The uncertainty hangs over the entry of the former lawmaker Nilambur PV Anvar, who previously won as an independent candidate supported by CPI (M) -lealed by a democratic front, to the opposition congress united democratic front (UDF) and its creation of election understanding with him.
Congress management wanted Mr. Anvar to either connect directly to the side, or coped with a smaller UDF component. However, it seems to hesitate with sudden serious ties with the Congress of Trinamool (TMC), where it holds the state consultation habitat. In addition, he also does not want to join the congress, a step he knows as a former leader of Congress, would not only be politically harmful, but also reduce his bargaining power in UDF.
Given the tense relations between Congress and TMC in West Bengal, the leadership of the congress of Mr. Anvar invited to reduce its connection with TMC, suggesting that he instead joined the Communist Marxes (stroke). In fact, Mr. Anvar was scheduled for discussions with the Secretary General of John in Kozhikod CP John in Kozhikod, which eventually did not happen.
Meanwhile, on Friday, the UDF meeting at a high level welcomed Mr. Anvar into his fold and decided to entrust the opposition leader in the OD Satheesan Assembly with the task of formulating modalities to integrate into the Alliance. The final decision on association with Mr. Anvar would be taken after consultation with the main command of the congress, said UDF Conlector MM Hassan on a press briefing.
Despite this development, it is also speculation that the national leadership of the TMC gave Approval to Mr. Anvar to attack the Byelection unless it reaches the UDF. By the way, Mr. Anvar welcomed the decision of the UDF meeting.
Mr. Anvar, elected from the Nilambur election district as a candidate for LDF support in 2016 and 2021, shot on the basis of an action according to the accusation, which he coped with six months ago against the main Minister Pinaray Vijayan. However, Congress’s leaders now believe that its influence has disappeared and does not have to provide election profits that the party expects in the upcoming bypolls.
Nevertheless, Mr. Anvar retains his pockets in the election district and his political movements will be very monitored in Bypolly, in the upcoming local elections this year and in the elections to the Assembly in 2026.
He set up a new political entity, a democratic Kerala movement, which later joined TMC before his resignation from the assembly.
