‘Umpires’ decisions go in their favour’: Pakistan’s Khushdil Shah alleges bias against India in cricket

Pakistan’s Khushdil Shah (Image: X) Pakistan all-rounder Khushdil Shah claimed that India often benefit from favorable umpiring and match-related decisions during India-Pakistan encounters. In an interview on the ARY Podcast along with teammate Abbas Afridi, Khushdil opened up about the unique pressure and emotions that surround the India-Pakistan encounter. However, it was his remarks about alleged bias in key aspects of the game that quickly caught the attention of social media.According to Khushdil, matches against India have a different intensity, but he believes several factors tend to work in India’s favor during these contests. “The matches against India carry a few extra emotions and then the pressure is off a bit. When we played, we also beat them,” said Khushdil. The left-hander then went one step further, claiming that decisions on and off the field often benefit the Men in Blue.“Things tend to go in their favor during matches. Referee decisions go in their favor, as do some dressing room decisions, and even matches are played according to their wishes,” he said.Despite these allegations, Khushdil insisted that the victories over India were all the more satisfying from Pakistan’s perspective because of the perceived challenges.“For all that, when Pakistan wins, it’s especially nice,” he added.
