The prohibited front of United Liberation Front of Asom, or ULFA (I), required a missile attack carried out by “colonial workforce” in his camp in Myanmar on Sunday (July 13, 2025).
In his statement, the outfit stated that the attack was carried out during the funeral ceremony for another manager, “Lieutenant General” Nayan Asom, killed previously in the attack of drones by “labor”.
Unconfirmed news from the Myanmar Sagaing division said some of the National Socialist Council camps in Nagaland (Khaplang) also got under the attacks of drones. It is known that ULFA (I) and NSCN (K) share camps in Myanmar.
Ulf (i) said that the “brigadier” Ganesh Asom and “Colonel” Pradip Asom lost their lives in a missile attack early Sunday (July 13, 2025) in the morning. He also claimed that several other members of the clothing and some civilians were injured.
“The workforce continued to attack in the areas using fighter aircraft. We want to tell the indigenous people of Assam that we will avenge this brutal attack made by a colonial nation,” said ULFA (I).
Ulfa (i), headed by Pareshe Baruah, calls new Delhi as colonial power and the Indian armed forces as “workforce”.
The Indian army and the paramilitary Assam rifles, guarding 1,643 km india-myanmar Border, said they did not know about any bombing in the neighboring country, torn by civil war after a military coup in February 2021.
“There are no inputs about the operation with us,” said a defense spokesman based on Guwahati, col. Mahendra Rawat.
Main Minister of Histant Bisw Sarma said he took note of the statement issued by Ulf (I).
“The Assam police are not involved and no attack has been made from Assam’s land. The defense authorities usually issue a statement after such incidents. They have not released any yet,” he said.
Ulfa (i) is the only extremist group of Assam that has not signed any peace agreement with the government or dissolved. He refused to talk about the ceasefire until the new Delhi disagrees with the discussions about Assam’s sovereignty.
