Days after the end of shooting and extensive military actions between India and Pakistan, the global powers continued to expand the support of the current pause about military events between the two sides. The United Kingdom said on Friday (May 16, 2025) it was “determined” to ensure efforts against terror and the pause in hostility remained on the way. British Foreign Minister David Lammy strongly condemned terrorism in Islamabad and recalled the close ties that India and Pakistan enjoy with Great Britain, and announced that they would soon visit India.
“It is positive that India and Pakistan-and big friends in the UK-have been speaking with hostility pauses and that he holds a ceasefire. Because of the deep and historical ties between our populations and our governments, we will be determined to play our role against terrorism and ensure that this fragile is standing.” He also said: “The United Kingdom has done everything from a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, to play a supportive role to reduce tension, got into a ceasefire and condemned terrorism.”
Officials said that Mr. Lammy will not come here from his tour after Islamabad, mainly because of the strong emphasis of India on Dehyphene from Pakistan and that the Indian visit to Mr. Lammy will therefore be announced later.
‘Desperate pictures’
“The images of the conflict between India and Pakistan were disturbing for all of us in all in Britain: but especially millions of British with Indian and Pakistani heritage and many British nationals living in both countries,” Lammy said. Notes by the British Foreign Minister, which organized several telephone calls with the Minister of external Affairs S. Jaishankar about the evolving situation, came soon after the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expanded their support to a break in military events with spokesman Maria Zakharová and expressed the hope that “emerging normalization” would last. “We call on both states to settle their disputes through political and diplomatic channels on a bilateral basis,” Mrs. Zakharova said.
