
Khamzat Chimeev climbed to the top of the UFC Division of Middle Weights when Dricus du Plessis detrored Dricus du Plessis with a complete dominant performance in UFC 319. Chimeev won the struggle by unanimous decisions, with all judges scoring in favor of the bite-off stars.
The dominance of Chimeev was seen with statistics during the fight when he completely dominated Du Plessis. The 31-year-old landed a total of 529 strikes compared to 45 du Plessis and made 12 out of 17 stops he tried. Chimeev also had a significant percentage of strike 78 percent.

Chimeev said he never had a game plan during the fight and claimed to work like in a gym. The new UFC champion also paid tribute to Du Plesis and said he was a real lion.
“I’ve never played playing. I just came, I work like in a gym. The guy is strong, I couldn’t finish, respecting the guy, it’s the only champion that said my name. This guy has a real heart, a real lion, a real African lion,” Chimeev said, as Reuters quoted.
