The united Democratic Front (UDF) increased its attack on the state government on Thursday, June 5 by bringing the accusation of corruption and the secret agreement in the construction of the national highway and accusing it blindly to support the government of the National Democratic Alliance in the Center.
The head of Congress Ramesh Chennithal questioned the silence of the main minister on the irregularity of the construction of motorways during his meeting with the Minister of Transport by Nitin Gadkari.
The main minister and minister of public theses remained in this matter despite meeting with the Minister of the Union, he said. “Even the State Secretary of CPI (M) MV Govindan, who is known for getting off, remained quiet,” said Mr. Chennithala.
“I am talking about corruption within a specific range of NH in Kerala, where Adani reportedly achieved a Crore 867 GBP.
Congress’s leader warned the Minister of Public Works of PA Mohammad Riyas not to assume that the opposition was celebrating the collapse of the NH. “The minister did not do his job. So the opposition had to point out,” he said. “The main problem is the safety of people and it is the duty of opposition to point to corruption.”
Mr. Chennithala said that the main minister and Minister PWD questioned the inhabitants of Kerala by not interested in the fundamental question of the collapse of the motorway with the Minister of the Union. He said that Pinarayi’s government blindly supports the BJP government on Wednesday.
The President of the Congress Committee of Keral Pradesh (KPCC) Sunny Joseph, who visited the collapse highway in Kooriyad on Thursday, said both central and state governments were responsible for the NH-66 collapse.
Mr. Joseph, who quoted mistakes in aligning and ignoring the warning of local residents and representatives of people, said the unscientific construction was the main cause of the highway collapse.
He said KC Venugopal, a deputy, as chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Accounts (PAC), visited a place and sought explanations of officials and called for action. “However, the Kerala government advocated construction and criticized Mr. Venugopal for pointing out shortcomings,” he said.
He pulled out on Mr. Riyas for not visiting the web and could not take responsibility for the collapse of the highway.
