The candidate United Democratic Front (UDF) Aryadan Shoukath said that Nilambur would return to UDF regardless of who stands as an opposition candidate. When Mr Shoukath, in Punnunnam, said the spirit of the veteran leader continues to lead his campaign after offering flower honors at the Congress Memorial K. Karunakaran in Muraleemandirama in Punnunnam.
Mr. Shoukatath, who reached Thrissura at 6 am on the day of the nomination, said he was extremely happy, that he began the election process by honoring the memory of the leader who defined Keral’s policy of Congress. “The opening of the day with his blessing gave me the feeling that he was with me in this battle,” he said.
After Mr Shoukath began his campaign, he expressed confidence that he would translate most as soon as he was secured by his father, late Aryadan Muhammed. “This means the beginning of a strong Nilambur battle to end nine years of repressive and disastrous left rule,” he said, adding that the inheritance of leaders like Karunakaran still inspires the struggle to restore the actual Congress values in Kerala.
The event was recorded by several leaders, including the President of the Thrissur Congress Committee Joseph Tajet, Vincent MP, TV Chandramohan and others.
