Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Friday e-inaugurated the Udan Yatri Café at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and digitally launched the DigiYatra facility at the airport. Located in the departures area before check-in, the cafe offers snacks and drinks starting at ₹10 and provides passengers with inexpensive snack options.
The initiative is in line with the government’s aim to increase affordability in aviation and complements the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) regional connectivity programme. DigiYatra, which uses facial recognition technology, enables contactless and paperless movement through airport checkpoints. Thiruvananthapuram began piloting the platform in June 2024, and by January 2026, 24,700 domestic passengers were using the platform, representing a 21% take-up.
