The Cochin Zonal Unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday arrested two youths allegedly with 1.5 kg of suspected methamphetamine, often known by its street name meth, from a rented house on the border of Edathala police station near Aluva.
The arrested have been identified as AA Asif and Nithin Viswam, both 27, of Karumalloor in Aluva. NCB sources said the accused was procuring suspected meth from Delhi. Incidentally, Nithin was earlier arrested by the Kerala Police in another drug case involving methamphetamine and was also charged with murder.
The accused has been under NCB surveillance for some time and cops narrowly missed Nithin during a trip to Delhi allegedly to retrieve drugs last month. The NCB is now looking for the distributors who supplied the suspected drug for retail sale.
