
Two plantation workers from Assam sustained injuries after a leopard attacked them in Gowthalli village, Mudigere taluk, Chikkamagaluru district on Monday.
Sabina Samad and Sultan Javed were working on a coffee estate belonging to Chandra Gowda on Monday morning when the wild animal attacked them. When they raised their voice for help, the animal ran away. Both suffered back, neck and leg injuries. Other plantation workers moved them to the hospital in Mudigere
After the incident, forest department officials visited the spot. Residents are worried about the incident as they are already facing problems with elephants. People who gathered at Gowthalli urged the forest department to take measures to prevent human-wildlife conflict in the area.
