Two men were found dead in an autorickshaw under a flyover on Wednesday morning after allegedly injecting drugs. Chandrayangutta police have registered a case.
Chandrayangutta ACP A. Sudhakar said they received the information around 8.30 am. The victims have been identified as Jahangir, 27, a resident of Pahadishareef, and Irfan, 25, a resident of Riyasat Nagar in Santosh Nagar. Their families were called to identify the bodies.
A police officer close to the investigation said preliminary investigations revealed that the third person, also the autorickshaw driver and their friend, survived after consuming a lower dose of the same substance. “All three are believed to be addicted to drugs and it is suspected that they injected an anesthetic substance. We are yet to ascertain the source of the drug,” said a police officer.
Further investigation is underway.
