
Police raided two manufacturing units in Jalpally, leading to the arrest of four persons for allegedly manufacturing substandard ginger garlic paste in unsanitary conditions. The accused have been identified as 45-year-old Abdul Sattar, 21-year-old Mohd. Israel, 18-year-old Mohd. Iftekhar and 19-year-old Noor Nabi, all residents of Jalpalla in Balapur.
According to the police, acting on a tip-off, teams raided ‘SK Royal Enterprises’ and ‘Shahi Gold Companies’ located at Wadia Mustafa Nagar in Jalpally. The units allegedly manufactured ginger garlic paste using low-grade ginger and synthetic food colors without following the guidelines of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) or possessing the required licenses.
Officials said the products were processed and packaged in unsanitary conditions and delivered to local stores, endangering public health.
The police seized boxes of food colouring, a large quantity of packaged and bulk ginger garlic paste, bags of garlic and salt, labels of both companies, weighing, grinding and mixing machines and packaging material worth Rs 10 lakh.
