
Two Sudanese nationals were detained by the KPHB police after the car they were driving lost control and overturned on the JNTU flyover in Hyderabad on Sunday (October 26, 2025) morning.
The accused have been identified as Safwan Mohammed Abdulrahman Ibrahim, 23, a BCA student from Ajmer, Rajasthan and a native of Khartoum, Sudan, and Badreldin Adam Abdelhadi Fadol, 23, a BCA student from Hyderabad and a native of Nyala, Sudan.
The incident was reported between 10:30 am and 11:00 am Investigating officer K. Babu Rao said both were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. They were tested negative for drugs.
“Safwan Mohammed was traveling from Ajmer to meet his friend in Hyderabad. The couple had hired a hatchback from a car rental agency and were driving rashly and carelessly under the influence of alcohol when the vehicle overturned. They sustained minor injuries,” a police officer said.
An eyewitness reported the incident to the KPHB police, after which both were taken into custody. They were charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and rash and negligent driving. Further investigation is underway.
