
Two siblings were injured when an improvised raw explosive, locally known as the “Pannipadakkam”, left on Thursday in Puthunagaram.
Shareef and his sister Shahana of Mangode Lakshamveed Colony were admitted to the government district hospital here. Shareef, who suffered serious burns, was moved to the Faculty of Medicine in Thrissur.
Police initiated the incident investigation. The police said Shareef hunted wild buds using explosives.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party accused the Indian Social Democratic Party (SDPI) of involvement in the explosion. SDPI denied the claim that Shareef was expelled by the party two years ago.
Meanwhile, three accusations were ceded on Thursday in connection with seizures of explosives from the house in Kallekkad nearby.
Suresh Kumar, 40, Noushad (35) and Fasil, 25, were successful by the court court of the first class Pattambi.
Explosives were confiscated from House of Suresh, which is reportedly a BJP employee. Police intensified the investigation of the suspect’s trio in the explosion, which took place at the Vyasa Peethom Elementary School here on August 20.
