
Two siblings have been arrested on charges of murdering their brother and attempting to murder another in Badvel police area of Kadapa district.
According to the police, the murder took place near Sreenivasapuram village in Gopavaram mandal on January 11 and the reason was said to be money disputes between the brothers.
The deceased has been identified as Mude China Alias Channa Gurraah (42) while the injured is mud from the ears, both from the world.
The main accused, Mude Chinna Guruvaiah alias Teacher Gurraiah, borrowed around Rs 20 lakh from his younger brother Channa Gurraiah over the last 10 years.
Allegedly influenced by their elder brother, Pedda Gurraiah and Channa Gurraiah harassed Teacher Gurraiah to repay the loan immediately and humiliated him.
Exasperated by this, teacher Gurraiah and his other brother Nadipi Gurraiah, who lives in Bengaluru, conspired to eliminate Pedda Gurraiah and Channa Gurraiah.
On January 11, Channa Gurraiah and Pedda Gurraiah allegedly called at a remote place in Sathya Township on the pretext of clearing a loan. After collecting the loan documents, they attacked Channu Gurraiah with hammers resulting in his instant death. When Pedda Gurraiah intervened, they attacked him from behind with the same hammers and inflicted severe injuries on him.
Believing that they were both dead, the accused threw the hammers into a nearby bush and fled on a two-wheeler. They reached Renigunta, left the vehicle there and traveled by train.
When they learned that Chinna Gurraiah had died but Pedda Gurraiah had survived and the police were searching for them, they decided to return to Badvel to seek the help of a lawyer.
On Friday, both the accused had come to Renigunta and were going towards Badvel on a two-wheeler when they were arrested at Garudayya Satram.
The police recovered two iron hammers allegedly used in the crime, two bottles of chilli spray and chilli powder, the vehicle used to flee the crime and three mobile phones.
