Two Railway Guardians at the Railway level (LC) between Arakkonam (Ranipet) and Tirumalpur (Kancheepuram) on Arakkonam – ChengalPatt was suspended on South Railway on Sleeping during working hours on Thursday.
Railway officials stated that the order for suspension was issued after a surprising inspection of the higher divisional engineer (West) of the southern railway. The western part of Southern Railway oversees the functioning of railway stations between Arakkonam and Jolarpet in the Chennai railway division.
The suspended gateway breeders were identified as Karthikeyan, goalkeeper for LC-44 in Thakkolam and Ashish Kumar, goalkeeper for LC-40 in Sendamangalam on Arakkonam-virumalpur sections, the officials said.
The surprising inspection was carried out between midnight and 2:00 on Thursday on the Arakkonam -chengalpath route, a continuous crossing at the railway level, where the role of railway gate breeders remains crucial for the smooth operation of the train services and for preventing accidents.
Railway officials said many levels of transitions on the Arakkonam – Kancheepuram section have non -interlock systems because fewer trains were operated on the route. On the contrary, crossings at the Railway level on the Arakkonam – Jolarpettai section are connected by the signal due to the operation of multiple trains on the route. On average, about 120 trains are operated on the route every day, the officials added.
