
Two proposals that once won the top prize for improving drinking water supply in the fast-growing urban area of Thiruvananthapuram have been gathering dust for the past few years.
The Neyyar Water Supply Scheme, with a total capacity of 120 million liters per day (mld), and a much older proposal to increase storage levels at Peppara Dam remain non-starters, even as the capital’s drinking water requirements have been increasing in recent years.
