The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday (June 17, 2026) attached two properties of a key accused in Baramulla in the Pakistan-backed terror conspiracy case.
“Two properties of a key accused in a Pakistani terror conspiracy case linked to Hizbal Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) have been attached as part of the ongoing counter-terrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir, the NIA said.
Officials said the attachment of the two properties was done under Section 33 (1) of the UA (P) Act in compliance with the orders of the special NIA court in Jammu and they were located in Kanispora village of Baramulla district. These include a residential house built on a 7.5-marla plot and a 6-marla plot on which a shed was built, the NIA said.
The NIA identified the accused as Shaheen Ahmad Lone, “who was found to be involved in smuggling arms, ammunition and explosives from Pakistan across the Line of Control (LoC)”.
“Arms and explosives were further supplied to terrorists from the banned HM and LeT for launching terrorist activities in the Kashmir Valley,” the agency said.
The NIA said the accused was “actively involved in receiving and transferring funds to terrorists”.
Lone was arrested in September 2020 and charged in March 2021 under various provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
