Two people died in a motorcycle head-on collision

Two people died and two others, including a 16-year-old boy, were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles near Adoor on Wednesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Madhu (42) of Mangaram in Konni and Satheesan (45) of Anandappilla in Adoor. The accident took place around 9:00 pm at Anandappilly on the Adoor–Pathanamthitta stretch.

According to the police, Madhu was driving towards Pathanamthitta with a woman as a rider when his motorcycle collided head-on with another motorcycle driven by Satheesan.

The impact was so strong that one of the motorcycles caught fire.

Local residents rushed all the four victims to the Government General Hospital, Pathanamthitta. Madhu was declared brought dead while Satheesan succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The two pilots, including Satheesan’s 16-year-old son, were later shifted to Government Medical College Hospital, Kottayam, for advanced treatment. Police said the woman suffered a fractured spine while the boy, identified as Sidharthan, remained in a critical condition.

The bodies were taken to Government General Hospital, Adoor and Government General Hospital, Pathanamthitta for postmortem, police said.
