
Two patients, including a minor, diagnosed with COVID-19 died last week at Mumbai’s King Hospital Edward Memorial (KEM), PTI reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, doctors stated that the deaths were caused by co-morbidities along with Covid-19. One patient at the age of 14 years of age suffered kidney failure due to nephrotic syndrome and the other patient, 54, underwent cancer treatment.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said May has seen more Covid patients than in previous months, but the disease is now endemic and is not a reason for concern.
The report also stated that the hospital Seven Hills and the Kasturba Hospital determined the beds for patients with Covid-19, which can be increased with necessity.
There is no need to panic, says the hospital
The hospital authorities, clarify that these deaths were not caused by Covid-19, but serious diseases such as nephrotic syndrome with hypoocalcemic seizures and cancer, said there was no need for people to panic.
According to the PTI report, BMC said that very few cases of COVID-19 infection were found and too sporadically. Two patients who died in the hospital were from the Sindhudurg district and dressed up in the district of Thane and were not bombai residents, BMC said.
