Two women were killed and four other people were injured when their car hit a stationary truck from behind in Walayar on Sunday.
The victims were identified as malar, 40, and Lavanya, 40. They came from Tamil over. They returned to Perumbakam, near Chennai, after participating in the children’s music program in Kakkanad near Kochi when the accident occurred.
The injuries were the driver of the Selvam, the husband of Lavanyy, Sayiram and two children Malar and Lavanya. They were admitted to hospitals in Coimbatore and Palakkada.
The car had seven passengers of two families. Those who lost their lives sat on the left side of the car. Rescue teams had to reduce a strictly damaged car to break free of passengers.
