
The Madanapal police on Tuesday (Nov 25, 2025) arrested two more accused in connection with the illegal kidney transplant case that came to light earlier this month.
On November 9, 2025, a Bengaluru doctor, his team and others performed a kidney transplant on two women from Visakhapatnam who violated the prescribed rules and regulations. One of the women, Yamuna, died of post-operative complications the next day and a case was registered on the complaint of the woman’s mother, Suramma.
The police have registered cases under various sections of the BNS and Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 2011 and have arrested six accused so far. On Tuesday, the police arrested two more accused Kondaiah and Suman, who hail from Kadapa, and sent them to judicial custody.
