Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Kadapa district, caught Assistant Director (AD-Services) Nagisetty Raja Sekhar and Principal Assistant Khanbhai Mahaboob Basha of the DEO office in Madanapalle district in the act of accepting a bribe of ₹45,000 from the complainant.
The accused demanded money for processing a file related to the promotion of an upper primary school to a high school located in Gurramkonda mandal of Annamayya district.
Acting on a complaint, ACB Kadapa officials laid a trap and caught the AD and a senior assistant in the act on Monday at the office of the District Education Officer (DEOs) in Madanapalle while accepting a bribe, ACB officials said in a release.
The accused will be produced in the Kurnool ACB court, investigators said.
