Two brothers cousin after immersion Ganesh Idol on Saturday immersed on the beach Gundamal. The deceased were identified as Purini Nagaraju (45) and Purini Palachandra (42) from the village of Motumala in Kothapatnam Mandal in the Prakasam district.
According to the police, they both took part in Ganesh Nimajjanam at 10 am, after Nagaraju embarked on the sea. Around 2 pm Palachandra heard shouts from Nagaraja and jumped into the sea to save his cousin, resulting in drowning. The bodies were later unloaded, the police added.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Social Security of the Sree Bal Veeranjaneya Swamy’s condolences expressed his condolences to the deceased families. “The devotees should take care of themselves during the immersion of Ganesh,” the Minister warned.
