Two men arrested in Hyderabad for attempted murder over ₹2,100 wage dispute
The Attapur police and Hyderabad Task Force arrested two men within 48 hours for allegedly attempting to murder a 24-year-old man over a dispute over unpaid wages of ₹2,100 in Chinthalmet.
The accused have been identified as Syed Aftab alias Affu (24), a driver from Suleman Nagar, and Akbar Khan (28), a ceiling worker from Talab Katta. The police recovered three knives, two mobile phones and clothes worn by the victim and the main accused during the incident.
According to police, the victim, Syed Pashu, and Aftab were working as truck drivers in Mumbai during May and June this year under an employer who allegedly owed Pashu ₹2,100 in wages.
After returning to Hyderabad about a week before the incident, Pashu repeatedly asked Aftab to help recover the amount as it was Aftab who introduced him to the employer.
Police said that on the night of July 6, Pashu repeatedly called Aftab demanding money and allegedly abused him over the phone. Aftab then asked him to come to his house and allegedly called Akbar Khan to join him with the intention of attacking Pasha.
Around 12:40 on July 7, Pashu arrived in front of Aftab’s house along with friends. During an argument over unpaid wages, Akbar allegedly tried to stab him, but the accompanying victim intervened. Police said Pashu then pulled out a knife he was carrying and Aftab entered his house, returned with another knife and allegedly stabbed him in the right abdomen, causing severe bleeding injuries. The accused then fled from the spot.
Police said Aftab is a habitual offender with two previous cases of attempted murder against him, while Akbar is facing trial in a murder case registered by the Mangalhat police in 2018.
A case has been registered under section 109(1), 111 read with 3(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and further investigation is on.
